For Association Merkuri, implementing projects in the fields of culture and sports is significant for three main reasons:

irst, we believe that culture and sports are essential areas where the rights of women and girls must be fully realized. Women and girls should have equal rights to access cultural, recreational, and sports activities and facilities. However, we understand that women and men have different experiences and interests regarding culture, sports, and recreation, and these differences can sometimes lead to stereotypical attitudes and actions. Therefore, we strive to promote the involvement of women and girls in cultural, sports, and recreational activities through the organization of various events.

The second, equally important, reason for implementing cultural projects is that culture and sports are universal tools that bring different groups closer together. We use music, dance, visual arts, and other forms of expression to foster intercultural dialogue and build peace.

The third reason is that we live in a country with a unique cultural heritage. However, this heritage requires care, preservation, and development. Thus, every step we take to preserve cultural traditions, connect cultural heritage with modernity, renew cultural infrastructure, and create alternative multifunctional cultural spaces is crucial.

Our area of action includes supporting systemic cultural processes, and Association Merkuri is involved in the creation and discussion of strategic documents.
